Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Unit Secretary - Pre-Admit Call to join our team!


JOB SUMMARY:

Answer phones, transfer calls, take messages. Print surgical schedule for the next day. Check charts for surgical times making not of time changes. Call patients with time changes and when to arrive at the hospital.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answer phones, transfer calls, handles requests and takes messages. Nurses need to take admission & labs.
  • Filing labs and faxes that come in. Fax all off site patient information to scheduling to be placed in the fax folder.
  • Check email frequently and place any patients added on the surgical schedule.
  • Maintain data entry on the dept white board for a week out. Responsible for printing the surgical schedule 3 days in advance and adding any new patients to the board.
  • Ensure that charts are ready for each day of surgery.
  • Scan anesthesia/physician orders into patient charts as needed.
  • Order office supplies and materials as needed.
  • Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

Education/Certification: High school graduate or equivalent. Successful completion of a certified nursing assistant (CNA) program preferred. Current BLS certification and renewal as required.


Experience:
Experience as a CNA preferred.


Equipment/Technology:
Basic computer skills required.


Language/Communication: Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.

Can frequently and consistently make sound judgments.


Interpersonal:
Works well with others.


Performance:
Can work well under pressure and meet multiple and competing deadlines.
