We are looking for a hard-working person to work with one of our top drivers as a helper aide. You would be this driver’s right hand man loading tires. We provide top notch service from mom and pop shops up to the big box stores. We strive on our customer service. We are seeking someone reliable and who is consistently timely. Punctuality and dependability is a must!

This position starts out as hourly with the opportunity to move to tonnage (piece pay per ton). Days will range from 6am to 7am start and end around5pm to 6pm Monday through Thursday or Friday depending on the workload. Most weeks, with hard work and maximum effort you could make 5 days of pay in 4 days of work. Great opportunity for someone who is willing to learn new tasks and is self driven.

Liberty Tire Recycling has an opening for a HARDWORKING – MOTIVATED – RESPONSIBLE individual. This job is a manual labor position, driver helpers are assigned to drivers and/or routes for the purpose of assisting drivers in the collection of waste tires from contracted sites. During the route as a driver helper the employee will be under the supervision of the driver. They will assist the driver in backing the truck into position, loading the truck and if necessary, spotting hazards in the roadway during their on the road time. Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to lift and load tires of all sizes (personal vehicle, truck and tractor tires)
  • Must maintain a customer service attitude in demanding situations
  • May assist in performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or repairs to dispatch; clean equipment
  • Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety standards
  • Other duties will be assigned as necessary by the company

Abilities required:

  • Lift up to and including fifty (50) pounds (50+ requires assistance) on a routine basis and be physically capable of loading upwards of 1220 tires per day.
  • Must be physically capable of climbing in a trailer unassisted and in a safe manner to reduce injury.
  • Lace tires in a safe manner to reduce injury and maintain a secure load during transport.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors and the general public
  • Ability to work independently with general instructions
  • Ability to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions
  • Ability to make independent judgments which have moderate impact on the company.

Responsibility for Public Contact

Daily contact requiring courtesy, discretion, and sound judgment.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday starting between 6am - 7:30am and returning between 4pm - 6:30pm depending on the days route schedule.

Physical Demands

The employee must regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100+ pounds (50+ requires assistance). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and hear. The employee is constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle objects; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to lift, bend, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and walk.

Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds or force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
