Kirkwood by the River is a small continuing care retirement community located in the Irondale area. Kirkwood is looking for an experienced Driver to join our transportation team. Transportation involves driving Kirkwood vehicles which include 3 cars, a small wheel chair bus and a larger transportation bus.

The work schedule will vary depending on residents needs. Several regularly scheduled events are Tuesday A.M. grocery delivery to residents, Wednesday trips to a grocery store with residents and working some Saturdays and every other Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. taking residents to church.

Must have:

• a current driver's license and a clear driving record. CDL license a plus.
• experience driving for a retirement community, church or a similar situation.
• COVID vaccination.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Driving company vehicles these include cars and buses for resident activities, doctor appointments, etc.;
• Maintaining the company vehicles this includes keeping them clean, filled up with gas and taking them for maintenance when needed;
• Performing office duties to include maintaining the transportation calendar, expense reporting, interacting with the residents on appointment needs and interacting with the Activity Director on resident's activity trips;
• Assist residents with transferring to/from the company vehicles including lifting wheel chairs and walkers. This requires some lifting and physical exertion.

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour

• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability
