Title: Training Specialist
Location: Eden, NC
Duration: 18 Months

Job Description:

  • For more than 100 years, Client has led the charge in revolutionizing pet food production and its ability to enrich the lives of pets everywhere. Such industry leadership requires constant innovation and renovation, which is so often rooted in engineering.
  • The OSL Training Specialist will be responsible for supporting the implementation and improving technical competency development, leadership development, people engagement and implementation of world class learning systems and best practices throughout the entire facility, including Safety Training, Quality Training, Technical Training, Job Instructional Training, and Continuous Improvement Training based on Adult Learning Methodologies, CE (Client Continuous Excellence) methodologies, and TPM (Total Performance Management) methodologies. This will include constantly working with all departments to identify needs for training and improvement of current training in an effort to ensure that Client Employees are well versed in all aspects of their job and responsibilities to Safety, Quality, Service, Zero Waste and other company goals/initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with Factory Training & Learning Manager and other department managers in planning training needs.
  • Work with Training & Learning Manager to deploy market based standardized onboarding for Managers, middle management and all operator & mechanic roles, which includes leadership, functional, NCE/TPM and technical competencies; that follow business priorities in alignment with the factory operational master plan (OMP). This includes coordinating training relating to company-wide initiatives such as SAP and NCE.
  • Collaborate with Training & Learning Manager and departments to drive site training efforts including needs assessments, aligning with Management to gain understanding of specific situations requiring employee or group improvement, developing an ongoing onboarding, competence management and implementation plan.
  • Be proactive with all training initiatives, including safety, team building, diversity, etc.
  • Develop and organize a program of practical and technical instruction, develop a teaching outline, and determine instructional methods that can be done timely.
  • Maintain learning content and equipment requirements within a Technical Training Center in alignment with the market strategy and the factory OMP.
  • Maintenance of a digital competence management platforms (Poka, Power BI, iLearn and other solutions) and development of a strategy for a standard work for front-line leaders aligned with the market.
  • Support and communicate E&T rollout plans for the factory including selection of key activities, priorities for rollout, scope (lines, area etc.) and glidepath for results.
  • Support and guide E&T Standards Deployment framework for execution and maturity assessment.
  • Develop and maintain record keeping system that provides relevant information concerning training content, activities, attendance and evaluation.
  • Provide consultation on Job Instruction Training (JIT) for all hourly jobs inclusive of JIT manual, training outlines and qualification checklists for all jobs.
  • Develop and maintain a qualification checklist for all employees. Develop and maintain training/onboarding calendars and subjects involved.
  • Select or develop teaching aids to assist student’s learning and retention of material, using various learning techniques. Select or develops testing and evaluation procedures to be used at completion of training.
  • Coordinate ongoing recommended learning strategies and plans for the Factory aligned with NCE principles.
  • Develop and maintain online training calendar and library links to site plant training materials and procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years training experience, in a manufacturing, industrial, military, or related environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in adult education, business analysis and project management. The ideal candidate is a Training Specialist, Manager, Lead that currently works in a food & beverage (or CPG) manufacturing facility.

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
