NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs


If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

What Your Job Will Be Like

We are seeking an experienced Training Program Coordinator to partner with Center 2900 - Surety, Design Engineering and Weapons Quality. This includes direct support to one Director, six Senior Managers and thirty-five departments. The position requires integration with existing business staff that are supporting groups across 2900 and maintaining close relationships with training subject matter experts across the Labs. It is a career broadening leadership opportunity.


On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Track requirements for all 2900 Members of the Workforce (MOW) for the following programs:
    • TEDS Courses (2900 Required)
    • Knowledge Development Program (KDP)
    • Surety Engineering Weapon Quality (SEWQ)
    • National Security Quality Training (NQT)
    • Nuclear Enterprise Assurance Training (NEA)
    • Design Engineering (DE)
    • Primary Standards Laboratory (PSL)
    • SMB Courses (formerly CLA courses via Jupiter)
  • Update training requirements databases to ensure timely completion of training and avoid non-compliance
  • Communicate with management and MOWs regarding upcoming training, and the availability of opportunities to complete training
  • Work closely with training program staff to support both in-person and virtual training sessions.
  • Maintain strong relationships and collaboration with ND Training Program counterparts, HR’s Training and Development organization, and TEDS SMEs
  • Continually maintain training program documentation, processes, and reports
  • Actively participate in training program meetings
  • Provide periodic training program updates and ad hoc reports for 2900 leadership, as requested
  • Proactively and independently address any MOW non-compliance in a timely manner
  • Lead special projects to support training activities across Center 2900
  • Advise management on corporate training policy interpretation/application and recommend implementation options when necessary
  • Enable efficient onboarding for all new hires
  • Maintain Center 2900 records, collaborative drive access controls, and SharePoint sites


This position is eligible for telecommuting and the selected applicant must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the assigned work location when necessary.

Qualifications We Require

  • High school diploma plus five or more years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain US DOE Q-level security clearance

Qualifications We Desire

  • Active US DOE Q-level security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
  • Experience with training program coordination
  • Knowledge and experience with Center 2900 mission and business operations environment
  • Experience with both Direct and Indirect financial management
  • Excellent knowledge and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Previous Center-level business support/lead experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize a variety of tasks and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience working with Senior and Executive management
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and interpersonal
  • Ability to manage constantly changing priorities, while subject to a various workload and time pressures
  • Strong customer focus with enthusiasm to own and execute all assigned responsibilities
  • Demonstrated experience leading others to deliver results inclusively and collaboratively
  • Ability to organize and perform under strict deadlines and changing priorities

Security Clearance

Position Information


This Limited Term Employee (LTE) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years.

Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.
