Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains and repairs production molds, tools, gages, equipment, and fixtures in support of operations.
  • Works closely with engineering, production associates and other toolmakers in resolving production issues.
  • Fabricates a variety of production tools, jigs, fixtures, molds, gauges, etc. from blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions.
  • Sets up and operates all tool room equipment, including programming and operation of CNC equipment and demonstrates consistent optimum results is favored.
  • Applies all required tool room ancillary equipment such as sine bars, rotary tables, index fixtures, attachments, and inspection tools.
  • Fabricates all tools, fixtures, gauges, and other machined components to very close tolerances from blueprints, sketches or verbal instructions with tool room equipment.
  • Applies CAM software to program CNC equipment. Solid understanding of Gibbs Cam is a plus.
  • Maintains quality and safety compliance.
  • Applies critical thinking in solving complex engineering problems.

Education: Minimum High School Diploma required

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience programming and operating all manual machines for toolmaking, including Bridgeports, Lathes, Grinders, as well as all other related manual machines and hand tools.

Preferred:

  • A demonstrated ability in programming and operating CNC equipment, including Milling Machines and Lathes
  • Ability to program and run Wire EDM
  • Proven ability in building and/or maintaining tools, gages, equipment, and fixtures
