Job Overview:
Work with a talented team of software, electrical, mechanical, and system engineers to apply your knowledge and problem-solving skills developing and testing our new and existing products. Develop Verification and Validation systems related to Industrial Electronics platforms for Wabtec’s Core Electronics Team. This includes planning and execution of manual testing along with the development of hardware and software systems for automated test infrastructure. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and able to work on their own or in a multidisciplinary engineering team environment to ensure products meet release standards, get to market in a timely manner, and stay in the field for their projected life.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Develop, document, and execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, test plans to evaluate design options and products using a combination of numerical and physical test methods
  • Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers
  • Test products to defined levels of acceptance and coverage based on product requirements Develop interface hardware and automation software for Board Level and Assembly Level testing
  • Collaborate with engineers of different disciplines (Electronics, Embedded Software, Mechanical, and Manufacturing)
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of relevant company and industry standards for electronics and Software Verification and Validation practices
  • Author and maintain proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Conduct peer reviews on requirements, test plans, test software, test fixtures, and records Facilitate test plan review meetings with software engineers and other stakeholders on the project
  • Develop test plans using Grey Box and Black Box testing models
  • Develop automated regression test suites as part of CI/CD pipelines
  • Follow Agile development methodologies and work effectively in Scrum Teams
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Electronic circuit knowledge and experience, including use of DMMs, Oscilloscopes, and other related electronic testing equipment
  • Circuit design experience: Schematic design, PCB layout, VHDL coding considered beneficial
  • Programming languages:
Experience in at least one of Python, BASH, C, C++, or Java
Other object-oriented and scripting languages considered beneficial
  • Linux operating systems experience
  • An understanding of general network design principles including IP and TCP/UDP.

  • Must be willing to travel 10% or less
