BASIC FUNCTION

The Portland, OR Employee Benefits practice of Milliman provides compliance and co-sourcing services to a broad array of retirement plan sponsors. We are looking for a Retirement Plan Administrator who will be responsible for operational tasks associated with servicing defined benefit pension plans in compliance with plan provisions and administrative policies on a temporary basis from as soon as possible through July 2023. The Administrator assists in maintaining pension data and calculates benefits. The Administrator will be expected to know technical and legal requirements in the administration of retirement plans and have obtained their CPC from taking and passing ASPPA examinations.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION

  • Provide detailed review of plan participant data
  • Assist participants by phone and email
  • Analyze batches of participant data and produce reports for client review
  • Process manual and automated calculations and ensure accuracy of calculations
  • Provide support for special projects and other tasks as needed
  • Ensure final work products are accurate, timely, and of high quality

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Ten years of recent defined benefit retirement plan administration with current knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements
  • Prior experience with pension calculations, plan interpretation, and data clean-up
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, and intermediate level of Excel
  • Aptitude to work with various automated processes
  • Ability to apply mathematical skills to problem solving
  • Strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team environment and individually
  • High integrity and discretion to ensure the confidentiality of sensitive client data
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in mathematics, accounting, law, or other analytical field preferred

PERFERRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • CPC Credential from ASPPA
