Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned and knowledgeable Telehealth Subject Matter Expert to support the Office of Connected Care (OCC) at the Department of Veterans Affairs. The OCC uses virtual technology to extend access to care for Veterans and healthcare professionals beyond the conventional office visit. As a Telehealth Subject Matter Expert, you will provide strategic guidance and technical expertise across a variety of telehealth initiatives and projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze user needs to determine functional requirements, define problems, and develop plans and requirements for complex systems related to telehealth.
  • Provide expert guidance on information systems architecture, networking, telecommunications, automation, communications, risk management, electronic analysis, software/hardware, lifecycle management, and software development methodologies.
  • Advise on the application of cloud systems and healthcare IT systems in the context of telehealth.
  • Lead and contribute to the development and implementation of innovative telehealth solutions.
  • Facilitate training and knowledge sharing sessions, disseminating expertise in telehealth technologies and best practices.
  • Provide expert input on business processes, modeling, and simulation related to telehealth.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, articulating complex technical concepts and solutions in a clear and concise manner.
  • Stay current with emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory changes in telehealth and advise on their potential impact and opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Health Informatics, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 15 years of professional experience in telehealth, including experience in information systems architecture, networking, telecommunications, automation, communications, risk management/electronic analysis, software/hardware, lifecycle management, software development methodologies, and cloud systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in healthcare IT systems and telehealth technologies.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with the Department of Veterans Affairs or similar healthcare organizations.
  • Doctorate degree in a relevant field.
  • Recognized as an expert in the field of telehealth in the professional community.
  • Proven track record of leading successful telehealth initiatives.

Compensation:

Salary for this position is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, location, the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract specific affordability and organizational requirements. The proposed salary range for this position is outlined below.

Salary range: $130,000 - $155,000
