We’re actively seeking a talented Purchasing Specialist to join our Technology Strategic Sourcing team in Newport Beach, CA. This role can be on-site, hybrid, or 100% remote.

As a Technology Procurement Specialist you’ll play a key role in Pacific Life’s growth and long-term success by providing analytical and transaction support for technology sourcing activities., This position will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to streamline the purchase requisition to payment processes, perform data analysis to identify and resolve transactional errors and drive process improvement opportunities.

How you will make an impact:
Responsibilities include supporting Strategic Sourcing initiatives set forth by sourcing managers within the Procurement function. Assist end users with the purchasing of indirect technology hardware, software, and licenses using Coupa.
Assist in developing and enhancing processes for the Technology category to drive process efficiencies.
Analyze incoming requisitions for proper GL coding and formatting
Obtain quotes, help users create purchase requisitions, and assist in routing routine NDA’s and smaller contracts for approvals and signature.
Assist end users with processing change requests.
Work with internal customers to confirm requirements in support of technology purchases.
Act as a point of escalation for invoicing, receiving and past due invoices with Accounts Payable .
Assist in developing targeted sourcing strategies for software and related categories to reduce risk and meet targets for the internal customer, Business and Procurement Department.
Issue purchase orders and resolve blocked invoices related to assigned category. Provide business stakeholder training and support for entire Procure to Pay process with primary focus on Pay side - generating purchase requisitions and purchase orders, receiving in Coupa, resolving blocked invoices, and assist with purchase order changes. Review open order report and manage deliveries. Assist business customers and Accounts Payable to ensure that vendors are paid on time.
Develop and lead efforts to reduce number of transactions for assigned category.
Responsible for supporting contract negotiations in collaboration with senior sourcing managers, the Legal Department and other key stakeholder groups. Management of contracts ensuring performance of the supplier to contract obligations. Understand interrelationships between contracts and terms while applying creativity and sound business reasoning to interpret application of contract to business needs.

The experience you will bring:
Bachelor’s Degree required
2+ years of hands-on Procurement Operations experience
Knowledge of and proficiency in ERP and Procurement systems preferred ( Coupa, Archer, PeopleSoft, etc.)
Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, MS PPT, and MS Word), with advanced skills in Excel
Thinks innovatively and strategically: has organizational agility, possesses strategic agility
Strong mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail
Ability to solve complex procurement operations problems in a fast-paced environment
Excellent interpersonal, leadership and communications skills a must

What will make you stand out:
4 year degree or equivalent. Procurement certifications helpful.
Business Intelligence and data mart experience (Tableau, Alteryx etc.)
Demonstrated experience managing Technology strategic accounts.
Knowledge and familiarity with various RFx initiatives.

Base Pay Range:
The base pay range noted provides a basis to determine the appropriate offer dependent upon several factors including but not limited to geographic location, experience, skills, education and pay equity. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
$70,100.00 - $87,600.00 - $113,900.00
