Technology & Engineering Teacher, Long-term Substitute, SY2023-2024 Job at Silver Lake Regional School District
Silver Lake Regional Middle School seeks applicants to fill the position of 7th and 8th grade technology and engineering teacher. This assignment will be a one-year appointment as a long-term substitute, lasting for the duration of the 2023-2023 school year.
Qualified applicants should be experienced with project-based learning that introduces STEM principles, concepts, and guidelines. Instruction will center around involving students in relevant and rigorous questions, problems, and challenges related to engineering design and technology applications. The teacher will be expected to engage students in a variety of projects individually and in cooperative groups that develop their skills as problem solvers and effective users of technology, including strengthening their ability to develop, produce and use technological products. Activities will emphasize content related to the Massachusetts Science and Technology/Engineering Framework and Project Lead the Way curriculums, and develop the students’ abilities to solve open-ended problems with an engineering mindset.
The qualified applicant will work collaboratively with another 7th and 8th grade technology & engineering teacher on the development, implementation, and timing of curriculum units and related projects. This position is also part of our Project Lead The Way progression, and the chosen candidate will eventually assume responsibility for instructing Project Lead the Way courses.
Job Requirements:
Candidates should hold a Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education license in the area of Technology/Engineering 5-12 or General Science 5-8.
