The ideal candidate must have demonstrated experience in developing detailed technical Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), training documentation, policies, and policy instructions to support complex IT environments and applications. Candidates must also have previous work experience associated with developing System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) documentation. The primary responsibilities of the technical writer include: As this position will support a Business Objects based system, experience with technical writing and documentation of design, build, deploy, and operational support of Business Objects is required.

Responsibilities

  • Interacting with Senior Engineers, Program Managers, and Project Managers to capture and record all required detailed information needed to support IT systems development through operations and maintenance.
  • Developing standardized documentation templates focused on SLDC and other relevant documents or artifacts.
  • Developing SOPs and policies to include procedure steps, assignment of responsibility, expected durations, task detail.
  • Interacting with other external stakeholder agencies and organizations as well as application owners

Qualifications

  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Visio and should be able to create complex diagrams
  • At least one year supporting documentation of a Business Objects based development or similar Business Object tools such as D3.Js, Tableau, Pentaho, Qlikview, Redash, Anychart etc.
  • Experience supporting Agile development methodologies
  • Experience documenting complex modern IT environments and applications where IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS are employed and integrated with applications.
  • Familiarity with federal government projects
  • Familiarity with Federal Information Security Policies, Information Assurance practices, and Certification & Accreditation (C&A) requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
