JOB BRIEF

The Tech Support Engineer is a key technical member of the operation department. This is an engineering/technical supporting position that will develop process improvements to effectively utilize equipment and materials to maximize production. It will also provide customers and end users with post-sale products and technical support. Frequent interaction with other departments and customers is required. This position must possess problem-solving abilities as it relates to hardware and/or software questions associated with the use of Axiomtek products in customer applications.

This position will be a major technical support/communication channel to the Axiomtek HQ Technical team in the Production/QC/RMA departments.


ROLE OBJECTIVE

Provide and lead support to Tech Support Engineering team with a high level of professionalism and in a manner that reflects positively on the organization.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide in-depth technical support to customers for post-sales customer service
  • Coordinate with repair technicians/engineers to customers for RMA repair requests.
  • Facilitate problem resolution through on-site troubleshooting efforts or by utilizing remote Axiomtek engineering resources
  • Assist the Production Supervisor and his team to optimize production processes and fulfilling daily scheduled orders.
  • Create or assist engineers to create integration or production documents, including and not limited to Customer Specification Instruction (CSI), which will serve as the build “blueprint”.
  • Work with related engineers in other departments or HQ to troubleshoot and repair problematic products.
  • Provide technical training for operations, sales, and clients.
  • Manage/maintain all production/engineering-related equipment, machinery, tools, and software.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering / Electrical Engineering or 3 to 4 years-related experiences.
  • Specialized apprenticeship training, equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Windows Embedded (XP, 7, 8, 10), Linux System Installation, testing and troubleshooting.
  • Solid fundamental knowledge of digital and analog circuit design.
  • Experience reading / understand engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Experience with oscilloscope, multi-meter, soldering station, and other electronic equipment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to apply basic mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
