Technical Sales Engineer
Comba Telecom Systems (“Comba”), a leading worldwide provider of wireless solutions, provides the infrastructure and solutions to mobile operators and enterprises to enhance and extend their wireless communications networks. Due to the expansion of our US subsidiary headquarters, Comba Telecom NAM, in Milpitas, CA, we are looking for a Technical Sales Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities
The Technical Support Engineer shall be responsible for handling pre- and post-sales activities on the Commercial and Public Safety Distributed Antenna System (DAS) equipment sold and deployed within the North America Market (NAM):
Tier 1 Technical Support for OEM Products
RMA requests
Onsite commissioning and troubleshooting
Provide pre-sales ROM/BOM creation
Provide pre-sales system designs and quotations
Support design and implementation of Commercial and Public Safety inbuilding DAS (iDAS) and outdoor DAS (oDAS) solutions
Work closely with sales engineering manager, product manager and R&D team to provide insight on industry trends and existing product improvements
Identifies key technical issues and defines alternative approaches and resolutions
Evaluate customer requirements and deliver accurate scope of work and best in class services and support
Evaluate and recommend system solutions, design objectives, and risk mitigation as part of the RFI/RFP bidding process
Serve as a spokesperson to customers on Company’s technical capabilities in the area of in-building wireless products and system solutions
Represents Company at professional technical forums, organizations, conferences and meetings
Actively participates in design reviews and proposal evaluations
Actively participates in new business activities
Assisting and/or conducting in-house, customer and partner training programs
Support sales in the development and delivery of technical presentations and perform product demonstration at customer meetings and tradeshows
Position Requirements
+3 years in the Commercial and/or Public Safety DAS industry
Engineering degree or GROL FCC radio certification
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong knowledge on passive components (antennas, splitters, couplers, etc.)
Experience with RF Linkbudgets
Experience with the use of RF test equipment and analysis
Experience with other OEM DAS vendors (Corning, Commscope, Cobham/Axell, Solid, etc.)
Experience in technical sales (assisting with turn-key quotations, bill of materials and proposals)
Experience in turn-key projects (assisting with Design-Project Management-Commissioning)
Experience in data collection, analysis and report generation on Public Safety and wireless operator networks (i.e.- JDSU, ZKSAM, TEMS, etc.)
Ability to physically carry test equipment to perform site surveys, system testing and commissioning
Familiar with wireless technologies (i.e.- P25, TDMA, CDMA, EVDO, GSM, W-CDMA and LTE)
Familiar with ERRCS (P25, NPSPAC)
Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel
Must be disciplined to work independently
Must have good writing and oratory skills
Accompany Sales personnel to technical discussions and presentations
Cultivate strong customer relationships with key clients and accounts
Able to travel nationwide (Required)

Pay: $65,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
