Summary - Serves as a technical liaison between customers, Field Sales employees, Sales Representatives, Product Managers, Marketing, Inside Sales, and the Engineering department, pertaining to all segments of the business – Commercial, Industrial, & Marine.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities to which competency will be measured include the following.

1. Provide Technical Support

  • Responds to day-to-day inquiries from field sales employees, sales representatives, product managers, inside sales department, and end users regarding product applications and end-user needs.
  • Serves as a liaison between sales and engineering departments to ensure customer needs are being met, including but not limited to, reviewing project specifications to recommend suitable products, researching technical solutions with the existing product offering, communicating technical responses, and assisting with any field issues that may arise.
  • Responsible for providing technical support throughout the Marine and Government RFQ and Order lifecycle, such as assisting with retrieving documentation or pertinent technical information to the customer or internal departments as needed.

2. Manage Contract Review

  • Provides “front-end” contract review for adherence to Marine sales order contract requirements including, but not limited to, review of customer part numbers, applicable specifications, drawing revision levels, the ability to supply requested item, and/or any changes from the last procurement.
  • Submits appropriate procedures, issues requests for modifications / amendment, if required, and advises appropriate personnel of any special requirements of the purchase order.

3. Continual Improvement Projects

  • Recommends and/or implements improvements to engineering procedures, operations, or other internal processes.
  • Works alongside Sales and Marketing to execute revisions or improvements to technical documentation and product literature for customer use.

Education and/or Experience - Bachelor's degree (BS.) from four-year College or university in engineering, mechanical preferred; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills - Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills – Proficient in Microsoft Office; CAD Knowledge is beneficial
