Boston University Department of Biology seeks a Teaching Professional to join our team. We seek a broadly trained biologist to teach and coordinate the lab portion for two undergraduate courses: Introductory Biology for Health Sciences (CAS BI105) and Human Anatomy (CAS BI210). In addition to teaching lab sections, the Teaching Professional may coordinate and supervise graduate Teaching Fellows (TFs) and undergraduate Learning Assistants (LAs) and run weekly prep sessions. In close collaboration with the faculty of each course, this person will prepare appropriate instructional materials for the labs, revise the laboratory curriculum and manual, and assist undergraduate students in these large (100+ students) courses.


A willingness to learn, or a strong knowledge of, trends in biology and anatomy lab curriculum development is desired. This is a full-time, 12-month position with laboratory teaching and administrative responsibilities. The ability to self-prioritize in order to ensure progress daily across multiple deadlines is critical. The Biology department is a large, collaborative and dynamic environment that values diversity and inclusion.


Required Skills

  • A Master's degree is required, and a Ph.D. is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience required.
