Responsibilities

Job Title: SYSTEM DIRECTOR, REIMBURSEMENT AND GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS

Job Summary / Purpose

Directs and manages the healthcare organization's reimbursement activities and initiatives to ensure timely and accurate government and financial reporting. Develops and implements strategies, policies, procedures, and programs for all aspects of reimbursement management practices. Promotes a thorough department and system understanding of government payer regulations and reimbursement, support for CommonSpirit Health advocacy efforts, and formulation of reimbursement strategy. Monitors and responds to federal and state regulatory proposals and changes regarding healthcare reimbursement and provides effective solutions to address reimbursement issues. Responsible for compliance with government reimbursement regulations and laws. Oversees, evaluates and improves the productivity and performance of staff members.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities
  • Directs and manages the healthcare organization's reimbursement activities and initiatives to ensure timely and accurate financial and government reporting.
  • Ensures compliance with Medicare, Medicaid and other third party government reimbursement through oversight of cost reporting, audits and appeals in partnership with the compliance, internal and external legal teams.
  • Develops and implements strategies, policies, procedures and programs for all aspects of reimbursement management practices.
  • Participates in development and maintenance of system wide policies for revenue cycle, payor strategy, financial services and accounting that impact financial reporting and compliance with government reporting regulations.
  • Responsible for supporting national advocacy to create and improve government rate methodologies and supplemental funding at the federal level.
  • Responsible for supporting division advocacy to create and improve government rate methodologies and supplemental funding for all states across the organization’s footprint.
  • Monitors federal and state legislative regulatory proposals and changes regarding healthcare reimbursement and providing effective solutions to address reimbursement issues.
  • Responsible for compliance with federal and state reimbursement regulations for all hospitals.
  • Manages the productivity and performance of reimbursement staff members to ensure high quality service to all hospitals.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Minimum of ten (10) years of intensive experience with Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, Patient AR and Net Revenue. Management experience within a multi-hospital setting required. Minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.

Pay Range

$65.48 - $94.95 /hour
