Responsibilities:
Job Summary: The Nursing Supervisor provides administrative and clinical supervison to all staff throughout the
hospital on his/her assigned shift. The Nursing Supervisor is a liaison to department directors and administration
to ensure coordinated and efficient operations of services and departments. The Nursing Supervisor promotes patient
care consistent with the philosophy and objectives of The Horsham Clinic and the ANA Standards of Practice for
Psychiatric Mental Health Care.

Job Specifications: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the
criteria listed in this job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and
ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. The Nursing Supervisor must demonstrate
flexibility and the knowledge and skills required to manage units providing care to a varied population including
children, adolescents, adults, older adults, and dually diagnosed patients.

Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program. MSN preferred.

Experience: Three years clinical experience with a psychiatric mental health population. Previous
clinical supervisory role in a psychiatric setting preferred.

Licensure/certification: Licensure and registration by the Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners as a Registered
Nurse. American Nursing Association Psychiatric Mental Health Certificate preferred.

Supervision Received: Director of Nursing

Qualifications:
Physical Requirements: Physical agility to manage patients. Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 40 pounds.
Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping. Drug and alcohol free as
evidenced by negative results of post-offer, pre-employment urine drug screen.

Environmental Conditions: Exposure to psychiatric patients who may exhibit violent/aggressive behavior. Potential
for exposure to communicable diseases, blood/body fluids, and other hazardous waste.
General hospital environment.

Job Classification: Exempt; hours vary and may include day, evening, night and weekend
