Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Supervisor - Uniforms is to assist the Manager - Uniforms in directing the day-to-day operations of the Wardrobe Department. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supervises and inspects trains and evaluates the wardrobe clerk, wardrobe attendants and seamstresses to ensure a high standard of customer service and uniform inspections.
  • Supervises the inventory, distribution and proper cleaning of Team Member uniforms.
  • Evaluates the performances of the Wardrobe Clerk, Attendants and Seamstresses and their direct functions.
  • Interviews and recommends for hire any potential candidates for Wardrobe Clerk, Attendant and Seamstress.
  • Documents and issues discipline up to the SPI level including termination recommendations.
  • Assess, evaluate and review data for organizing projects and/or providing direction on activities, tasks or processes in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Arrange timeline to complete tasks and department assignments or projects, and meet the deadlines related to those assignments.
  • Work on actual project or service to help achieve the objectives of the department.
  • Evaluate information to render an opinion or take action based on that information that will impact the department or function.
  • Possess skills to hasten resolution, assess course of action, and implement or take action based upon findings.
  • Direct others in completion of a task or assignment. Render advice, and provide expertise or judgment based on information gathered, studied, analyzed or reviewed.
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.

All The Venetian Resort Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company’s standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 18 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
  • 3 years of experience in a Uniform, or a Hotel Operations position in a Luxury Hotel.
  • Prior experience supervising in a uniform or wardrobe Department preferred.
  • Working knowledge of sewing functions and fabrics and general knowledge of uniform and sewing room procedures; uniform and sewing room equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 20 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
