is a not-for-profit community organization, established in 1972 to combat the epidemic use of heroin and violence that were dismantling communities throughout Chicago. RFS is dedicated to rendering compassionate and effective programs that promote the quality of life by serving as a catalyst to advocate, educate, and empower individuals and their families.


POSITION SUMMARY:
The partnership with Youth Villages offers a unique opportunity to become immersed in an evidence-informed program model to serve young people 17-22. The Supervisor is in their day-to-day implementation of LifeSet, a model to address the needs of young people who are transitioning out of care and need individualized skill development and support to transition successfully into adulthood, specifically obtaining and maintaining safe and suitable housing, continuing their education, learning independent living skills, obtaining and maintaining employment, building a support system, and remaining free from legal involvement.


RESPONSIBILITY
& ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Primarily responsible for serving as the direct Supervisor for the team of 4 to 5 Case Specialists.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations’ policies and applicable laws.
  • Provides clinical direction to the Specialists based on the therapeutic model, which includes weekly case review and facilitation of the group supervision process.
  • Overseeing service plan development and ensuring case progress.
  • Will have access to an online portal that contains evidence-based and best practices to inform case conceptualization and service plan review.
  • Attends weekly consultation led by the Licensed Program Expert, a licensed professional.
  • Ensures documentation and contractual requirements are met.
  • Assists with coverage for Specialists when needed (e.g., vacations and sick leave)
  • Supports staff when attending court and meetings and conducts field supervision to ensure Specialist competency.
  • Provide the young adults with access to 24/7 on call. The Supervisor will be included in an on-call rotation and is expected to provide instruction to the Specialist and offer in-person support, if needed.
  • Manages the professional development plan and will conduct individual supervision meetings.
  • Involved in the hiring and performance management of Specialists by providing support and assistant to the team, professional development and training
  • Reviews service receipt and documents
  • Planning, assigning, and directing work and collaborating with internal and external customers.

The Licensed Program Expert and Program Director will offer the Supervisor weekly individual development to provide support on professional, operational, and clinical goals. The Supervisor will also have access to the Youth Villages’ Regional Network Lead, who will offer additional support.

MIMIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in field of social work, psychology or other directly related human services field with experience is preferred bachelor’s degree with minimum of 5 years of experience in social services required.
  • The candidate should demonstrate an ability to develop and manage staff, and an ability to collaborate with internal external stakeholders.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Candidate should also possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to maintain a flexible schedule
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Candidate must have their own vehicle, valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance and good driving record; and feel comfortable engaging in community-based services
  • Passing background check is required prior to being hired.
