Job Summary:

The Superintendent supervises and coordinates all on-site construction activities through installation on a project or multiple projects. The Superintendent supervises quality and safety in the field and provides technical expertise and ensures work meets quality requirements of contract documents, applicable codes and Disney standards. The Superintendent will coordinate work with contractors, operations, vendors and governmental agencies.

Responsibilities/You Will

  • Take the lead on ensuring Walt Disney Attractions quality in the field.
  • Handle the safety program in close coordination with WDA Safety.
  • Arbitrates on-site conflicts between contractors
  • Provide constructability analysis and value engineering recommendations
  • Identify applicable points of coordination at multiple levels
  • Assure contractor compliance and contract drawings/specifications and review/approve contractor's project schedule
  • Prepare site logistics plan
  • Set up staging field location and coordinate with operations as applicable
  • Verify existing site conditions against design documents
  • Review and run project schedule including 3-week look ahead schedules. Provide evaluation to the appropriate person
  • Prepare daily log of contractor work activities and compare against contractor's daily reports. Track personnel on site, equipment used and progress
  • Supervise "testing agency" activities and ensure coverage on site.
  • Coordinate with Construction Manager and design team, review submittals and site delivered materials for compliance to contract documents.
  • Ensure coordination between facility departments (Walt Disney Imagineering and Walt Disney Attractions).

Basic Qualifications/You Will Have

  • Minimum of 7 years job related field experience in applicable site development (attractions, commercial, residential, retail, or resort development projects). Emphasis in mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
  • Communicate optimally with management, contractors and field personnel, consultants and operator.
  • Lead exciting priorities on a sophisticated construction site.
  • Provide technical expertise in construction activities to ensure consistency to quality standards.
  • Build working relationships with contractors, sub-contractors, consultants, to achieve successful completion of projects, on time, under budget, and to client quality expectations.
  • Conflict management ability.
  • Balance multiple relationships and personalities.
  • Project environment is very diverse and requires a depth of character and social excellence. Projects are multifaceted and require daily partnership with Walt Disney World Operations, Walt Disney World Engineering Services, & Regulatory Agencies, etc.
