SUMMARY


The Marine Superintendent will manage equipment and subcontractors related to the Marine Department for our Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel Expansion project.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly supervise and be responsible for employees in the Marine Construction Department
  • Confer with and direct supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays
  • Order procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules
  • Confer with supervisory and engineering personnel and inspectors
  • Prepare or review reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports
  • Cost control
  • Attend coordination and production meetings with the PM to develop activities and amend possible problems related to structures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 5+ years’ experience in similar marine construction role with 15+ years of prior construction experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office
