We have grown steadily over the past 20 years to become the largest expanded learning time organization in San Mateo County, with sites in East Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Redwood City, South San Francisco, Daly City, and San Mateo. Our 24 program locations serve nearly 3,500 students countywide and are made possible with a $28 million organizational budget and through the talents of a 300-employee-strong workforce that keeps growing.

Position Overview:
BGCP is seeking positive and energetic Summer Youth Program Leaders to deliver invaluable in-person academic enrichment projects, Camp Galileo projects and outdoor play activities in the afternoons to elementary school or middle school youth at our BayShore Elementary School location in Daly City, CA. You will have the unique opportunity to build life-changing relationships with program participants, gain valuable professional development and leadership skills, and make a positive impact in the community.
Employment Status: Part-Time, seasonal/temporary
Pay Rate: $21.00-$29.00 per hour (DOE)
Bonus: $500.00 bonus for completion of the 2023 Summer Program

Dates:
  • Training dates: June 12-June 14
  • Program dates: June 15-July 21 (except Mondays, June 20, and July 4, which are holidays)
Hours:
  • Training hours: 9:00 am – 5:30 pm
Work Shifts Available:
  • A. 7:30 am – 2:00 pm (6.5 hours) Academic Enrichment
  • B. 10:30 am – 5:00 pm (6.5 hours) Galileo Enrichment
  • Mandatory Galileo Training Date: Saturday, June 3rd, 9:00-5:00 pm | 201 W Orange Ave, South San Francisco
What will you do?
  • Adapt, implement, and lead engaging, fun, and hands-on enrichment projects and activities for classes of approximately 20 students
  • Daily prep time, which entails preparing materials, reading the lesson plan, and preparing for the next day
  • Implement classroom management and behavior coaching strategies to maintain a positive learning environment
  • Support meal supervision, recess, and other student activities
  • Attend mandatory orientation, training, and team meetings
  • Ensure all health and safety protocols are enforced and followed
