Position Summary:

Make an impact in Minnesota this summer and support individuals experiencing housing insecurity and homelessness. As a Housing Stability Fellow, you will create a welcoming environment for those seeking assistance and connect them to resources that support stable housing.

We are currently recruiting for summer 2023 with opportunities beginning in May and June. This is an AmeriCorps member position with Summer Impact Corps and your commitment will be up to 40 hours per week. Join a movement dedicated to leadership through service and get things done for Minnesota!

What to Expect:
  • Conduct outreach to promote supportive housing services
  • Foster strong relationships with those you serve.
  • Connect individuals to resources that support health, safety and housing stability.
  • Support site-based food services, such as food pantries or meal deliveries.
  • Commit to continuous improvement through training and professional development.
  • Share your experience with the wider community as a Summer Impact Corps ambassador.
Perks Package:

Serve as a Fellow up to 40 hours per week and receive a perks package that includes:

  • A stipend of $1,100 paid every 2 weeks
    • $6,600 total for 300 hours of service
  • Up to $1,374 for tuition or student loans*
  • Federal student loan forbearance and interest repayment
  • Individual health insurance — Monthly premium 100% covered
  • Child care assistance — Based on family size and income
  • The Segal AmeriCorps Education Award can be used to pay tuition or repay qualified student loans. Individuals 55+ may gift their award to their child, grandchild, foster child, or stepchild.
What it Takes:

Housing Stability Fellows come from all walks of life. The most important qualification is a passion to take action for your community — and meet the following minimum qualifications.

By the time they begin their service, our members are:

  • Dependable with a good history of attendance
  • Able to understand and follow instructions
  • Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), conducting internet searches, navigating online resources, and utilizing other software like databases, email and video conferencing
  • 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States*
  • Able to successfully complete a background check
  • Applicants who have received deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA) through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security are not eligible to serve as AmeriCorps members at this time.
