Boeing Global Services is currently seeking a Mid-Level Structural and Payload Design Engineer to become part of the Tactical Aircraft (TACAIR) Spares Engineering Team in Hazelwood, MO.

The TACAIR Spares Engineering team supports the technical requirements for fabrication and procurement of spares for military aircraft such as F/A-18, F-15, T-45, and AV-8B.

As a mid-level design engineer you will be providing Spares Engineering leadership for one of the two Boeing Captains of Industry (BCOI) Depots supporting either the F-15 Depot or the F/A-18 Depot. You must be able to work in a cross-functional work environment including engineering, quality, product support, supplier management, and program management.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes and resolves design problems, able to develop and assist others with resolving design discrepancies.
  • Provide design expertise and technical knowledge to resolve customer inquiries for post-production fleet sustainment.
  • Documents processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of structural commodities via authoring Boeing Design Practices.
  • Leads resolution of supplier engineering issues including working with both engineering and supplier management.
  • Supports new business and proposal activities.
  • Works under minimal direction.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final US Secret Clearance Post Start, is required.

This Hybrid position allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options (Hazelwood, MO).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors of Science (or greater) from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, or other technical degree.
  • 3+ years’ experience using 3D Computer aided design tools ( Ex, CATIA, Unigraphics (NX) or other).
  • 3+ years of experience working in a professional environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years’ experience in a formal leadership positions held in work, volunteer or extracurricular organizations (ie. manager, club officer, mentor).
  • 5+ years’ experience reading drawings and engineering specifications.
  • 3+ years’ experience leading or managing cross-functional or cross-organizational teams within engineering and/or test.
  • 3+ years’ experience directly and indirectly supporting airline customers and suppliers.
  • 3+ years’ Engineering experience with tactical fixed wing aircraft.

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Travel:
Occasional travel (10%) may be required in support of the program and customer.
