Senior Strategy & Innovation Associate, Aon Climate

About the Role:

A motivated individual is needed to join our growing Aon Climate Team to support Aon’s Head of Capability Development! This is an exciting opportunity where you will be responsible for:
  • Working across Aon’s solution lines and support the teams develop new products – from forming new ideas to executing them with clients
  • Making effective decisions on prioritizing high-impact projects and concepts
  • Delivering commercial outcomes for Aon and our clients
  • Support the innovation agenda across Aon, working with a range of internal and external collaborators
  • Takes ownership for planning and delivery of new climate commercialization initiatives – working with multiple teams globally across a multitude of products and industries
  • Develops and builds positive relationships across Aon, globally
Major Accountabilities:
  • Work with Aon Climate’s Head of Capability Development and leaders across Aon’s solution lines to design new products
  • Work with Aon Climate’s leadership team, sector leads and colleagues from the rest of the business to develop client value propositions, plan client campaigns and contribute to firm-wide sales initiatives
  • Ad-hoc BAU requests and initiatives in the Climate space
  • Coordinate and plan the communication of client facing content, sales approaches, insight and thought leadership in this space across Aon
  • Support the development and management of a sophisticated portfolio of products including guiding daily activity, adhering to timelines, and communicating progress to stakeholders
Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attributes that will lead to success:

We are flexible about required background for this role, although we do expect the role to be filled by someone with demonstrable commercial and/or consulting experience. We encourage applications from individuals with a curiosity about a new exciting role within a key area for Aon’s future direction. We anticipate that the successful candidate with have built experience in strategic, operations, product development and/or consulting fields. Our preference is also for a candidate with experience in commercializing opportunities presented by climate change and the global transition to net zero.

What we expect from you:
  • Experience in delivering strategic change
  • Strong advisory/execution skills (4+ years) and a track record of role success and growing levels of responsibility
  • Strong ability to think critically and action in ambiguous environments
  • Strong planning and interpersonal skills with ability to multi-task and respond to changing priorities – takes ownership of individual workstreams or initiatives, creating an activity plan for analyses and research, as well as coaching and teaching less experienced colleagues new techniques and analyses
  • Strong stakeholder management skills - ability to supervise, lead and influence a very broad stakeholder group – both inside and outside Aon
  • Ability to quickly take concepts or ideas and to convert them into practical steps and plans, independently
  • Deciphers technical constructs and translates to succinct, jargon free output and is able to review other’s work for accuracy and completeness
  • Experience of contributing to corporate engagements with ESG subject matter expertise, and handling the challenges of such situations
  • A desire to continue to learn and build depth of expertise and to stay at the forefront of the industry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to present sophisticated concepts or information in a digestible format
  • Defines and prioritization of relevant issues / critical questions within an initiative and breaks down complex problems into simple, logical insight

The target salary range for this position is $90,000 to $135,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans. The amount of the incentive varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
