Position Summary & Responsibilities

Position Summary: This position is a Storekeeper Specialist who will be responsible for Clothing Supply and Laundry textiles; it will include inventory, filling orders, checking goods for quality control, supervision of employees and inmates assisting in these area. Communicates with Units staff and other agencies for effectiveness of Clothing Supply and Laundry operations in terms of patient/resident needs. Also participates in Natural Work Team and or Quality Action Teams by applying job knowledge to recommend implementation if the desired quality changes designed to support change to programs and to support the agency mission and vision.


Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

Oversees Public Donated Goods

Sorts and sizes donations

Works with Unit Property officers/Clothing Aides for utilization of donations

Monitors items being donated

Monitors usage of donated items

Arranges overstock of items to be transported to other organizations

Textile inventory

Mark all textile items identifying LSH

Assist with organization of a complete physical inventory on all Units

Periodically visit Units to spot check textile quotas

Clothing Supply Inventory/Mending

Inventory all new stock clothing items

Update clothing stock cards

Fill and issue Plexus orders

Oversees mending of patient clothing and textile items

Quality and Quantity Control

Receives and examines clothing

Verifies receipt of items, Check goods for quantity and quality

Supervision

Orientates and evaluates Inmate labors

Employees assisting in Clothing Supply

Oversees Laundry finishing area of clothing

Part of Laundry Department team

Assist in all areas of laundry daily

Folding/bagging of textiles and clothing, operating equipment

Operate laundry equipment; washers, dryers, small piece folder, feeder/ironer/folder/stacker

Cross trained to fill all areas of the Laundry Department

Assure housekeeping duties are completed in Clothing Supply


Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: One year of experience in storekeeping, including receiving, inspecting, cataloging, and storing goods and maintaining inventory records. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency

  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in storekeeping, including receiving, inspecting, cataloging, and storing goods and maintaining inventory records, is desirable. Laundry experience is desirable.

  • Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements: Ability to pass a KBI background and pre-employment drug test.
