The Store Manager role directs, coordinates, and monitors the retail store activities and business. The Store Manager is responsible for supervising and training employees and ensuring excellent customer service is being provided.

What you'll do here:

• Plan, prioritize, assign, monitor and supervise employees' daily job duties
• Schedule employees to workload needs
• Answer questions, advise, and train employees on customer service, cash register operation, stocking methods, cleaning, and safety procedures
• Recommend and initiate personnel actions such as hiring, transfer, discharge, corrective actions, etc., while maintaining confidentiality of employee records
• Promote customer recognition and build a repeat customer base
• Monitor sales in store
• Develop and maintain security measures for merchandise and cash handling
• Provide excellent customer service and reply to customer needs and ensure employees do the same
• Operate cash register, prepare cash register forms, balance and record reports and ensure employees do the same
• Order, receive, stock and rotate merchandise following GCI best practices
• Ensure that donated goods are received, sorted and processed
• Ensure store is clean and organized
• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll need:

• Excellent customer service skills
• A high school diploma or equivalent- Four (4) years of any combination of military service, high school, or related full-time paid employment may substitute for education
• A minimum for eighteen (18) months of related full-time paid employment, including at least twelve (12) months of supervisory experience
• Must have basic math skills
• Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Must be able to successfully work with a diverse population of people
• Must have a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and be insurable
• Must be able to carry, lift, push or pull forty (40) pounds
• Must be flexible and able to adjust to unexpected or different situations
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and a dependent adult and child abuse background check

• This position requires a flexible schedule which includes days, evenings, and weekends to support business needs

Ideal candidates will:

• Bring leadership and positive energy for their team each day
• Have retail experience and familiarity with using point-of-sale (POS) systems
