Job Summary:

An exciting opportunity exists at Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD) for an engineering manager to lead a section of our Wafer Fabrication and Materials Teams within the Advanced Microelectronics Solutions (AMS) Department. The engineering section lead in this role would be responsible for directing a group of skilled process engineers to fabricate advanced microelectronic devices in accordance with various technology roadmaps in support of Raytheon Technologies business pursuits. These road maps consist of both near term efforts on the cusp of transition-to-production, as well as longer term development efforts that maintain a pipeline of innovation.

The ideal candidate will have experience in III-V semiconductor processing and III-V epitaxial materials, preferably in GaAs or GaN, with a solid foundation in semiconductor device physics. They will review and oversee project schedules and cost, determine team priorities, review process changes, identify and champion process improvement opportunities, work to improve process yields, and interface with operations management. They will facilitate the effective allocation of team resources in ways to support the oversight of the foundry processes, assist in identifying future capital investment needs, and foster open communication between functional teams. Presence on the foundry floor is essential for understanding technical and logistical issues. The role requires a large degree of multitasking with attention to detail while managing priorities depending on the nature of the problems and the commitments to customers and programs.

The candidate should also have Cost Account Manager experience and/or Task Leadership experience. The candidate will work with the department manager on manpower and resource planning, controlling overhead costs, developing and delivering employee performance reviews, and developing/reviewing proposals. Also, support to management at the EPT leadership level and the engineering level is required.

Perhaps most importantly, the candidate must have a willingness to relate to and support the needs of their employees. The section leader will have a sphere of up to 20 employees who will depend on the section lead to help guide their careers and to maximize their potential and effectiveness.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience OR an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience.

  • Relevant experience with semiconductor processing or process integration.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance


Qualifications We Value:

  • Current DoD Secret level security clearance
