Summary:
The Senior Manager, Accounting oversees the daily accounting and control functions for the accounting team. The core responsibility of the Accounting Manager is to prepare and oversee the timely and accurate completion of the financial reporting and technical accounting requirements of the Company. This position will have a team of direct reports and will report to the Director of Accounting, with frequent interaction with other senior leaders both within and outside of the Accounting and Finance Group.

- Corporate Performance Management platform (CPM) Platform Implementation for business process optimization.
- Improving and Automating General Ledger Processes.
- Enhancing and Automating Month-end close Processes.
- Task Manager Tool Implementation.
- Involvement in and improvement of M&A accounting functions.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Manages and oversees the daily operations of the Accounting Group, including updating policies and procedures, overseeing changes to forms and processes, and coordinating communications between Accounting, Finance, Operations, and other internal and external departments.
- Maintains a solid understanding of the Company’s accounting systems and their integration with the Company’s operating systems.
- Supports the process of establishing, communicating, and assessing compliance of policies and procedures necessary to ensure that a strong control environment exists at the corporate and operating unit levels to facilitate timely and accurate accounting and financial reporting and the proper and efficient use of Company resources.
- Maintains complete and accurate books and records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), ensuring transparency of business results. Includes maintaining files and records to document transactions and the application of accounting methods, policies, and principles to those transactions.
- Supports the process of producing month-end financial reports.
- Continuously assesses the adequacy of internal controls, legal and contractual compliance, and good business practices, and proposes adjustments or improvements as necessary.
- Maintains and adheres to a month-end closing process within OneStream to ensure that all closing adjustments have been made and all accounts have been properly reconciled and adjusted.
- Ensure accountability of all team members to their tasks and responsibilities by maintaining an adequate review process of work product and individual performance metrics.
- Find practical solutions to operational and accounting challenges for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop an environment where collaboration, camaraderie, and team effort are fostered in striving for win-win solutions.
- Mentor, coach, and develop other members of the Accounting Group.
- Maintains confidentiality of company, customer, employee, and vendor information.
- Ensures proper handling and distribution of company funds.
Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 5+ years’ experience with corporate or public accounting.
- 2+ years’ experience directly supervising staff.
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Accounting
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
- Accounting/Finance Project Management experience.
- Strong Audit experience within complex accounting environments.
- Experience with using, implementing, and managing enterprise level web-based Accounting/Financial systems.
- Experience with OneStream or similar software products specializing in close automation & budgeting.
- Experience with PDI Enterprise Management Software.
- Advanced capabilities with other MS Office products.
- Experience in one or more of the following industries is a plus: retail industry, downstream oil and gas industry, or any other industry that you believe would provide relevant experience to our business.
