What the Compliance Department contributes to Cardinal Health

The Compliance Department is responsible for implementing all elements of an effective compliance program. Compliance develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and Cardinal Health’s high ethical standards. The team proactively completes risk assessments to identify legal and compliance risk and develops and conducts training and monitoring programs to mitigate risk. Compliance works closely with Legal and Regulatory subject matter experts to provide guidance to employees on compliance with Cardinal Health’s policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate knowledge and successful implementation of the elements of an effective compliance program.
  • Knowledgeable of various laws and regulations, including but not limited to: Federal and State Anti-Kick Back Statutes, False Claims Act, Payor Regulatory Requirements, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and Ethical Standards and Business Conduct.
  • Assist in planning, creating, and implementing a global, annual strategic plan for the deployment of training courses and materials within Cardinal Health and determine methods for such deployment (e.g., site visits, live training, or online training).
  • Prepare, facilitate, monitor, evaluate and document global training activities.
  • Organize, develop, or source training courses to meet specific training needs on various laws and regulations as well as compliance policies and procedures based on compliance risk assessment data and knowledge of various laws and regulations.
  • Identify and implement ways to measure the effectiveness of the training program to continue to enhance our compliance program as well as simplify business processes.
  • Collaborate with the Ethics and Compliance Department staff, operations, and other departments as indicated (Legal Department, Internal Audit, Human Resources etc.) to evaluate and make recommendations on training materials and methodologies for delivering.
  • Actively seek current training methods and best practices to facilitate training employees and keep current on training design and methodology.
  • Coordinate a global Compliance Week, including scheduling speakers, activities and events.
  • Partner with the communications team on various initiatives (e.g., intranet content, awareness initiatives, informative articles and emails, etc.).
  • Participate in the formulation, development, implementation, and revision of core Cardinal Health policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate the planning, development, and implementation of projects associated with the maintenance and enhancement of Cardinal Health’s policy development and storage capabilities.
  • Assist in establishing template formats and administer the policy portion of the intranet.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
  • 5-7 years’ experience in relevant healthcare compliance positions preferred
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements preferred

Anticipated salary range: $97,700 to $139,600
