Position Summary:


Under the supervison of the supervisor of Speech Language Pathology is proficient in speech therapy treatment for acute care,and inpatient rehab populations. Evaluates and provides therapy to individuals with impairments in communication, cognition and swallowing. Understand and able to adjust treatment plans according to the motor development stages. Possess the ability to coordinate physician, therapist, patient, and family goals into an appropriate plan of care. Demonstrate the ability to efficiently treat patients and document appropriately and effectively. Able to educate patient and family about disease process precautions, limitations or sensations related to the patient's condition either verbally, written or both. Ensures provision of quality patient care for patient population served including evaluation, treatment and discharge planning.

Education:

  • 1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting is prefered.
  • Masters Degree (M.A. or M.S) in Speech Language Pathology is required.




Experience:

  • Current Texas license in Speech Language Pathology, required.
  • Certificate from American Speech Language & Hearing Assoc., (ASHA) required.
  • Current Basic Life Support, (BLS) required.
  • QI Care Tool Credentialing, (Inpatient Rehab Staff) within 90 days.
