Essential Job Functions

The Skate Park Facility Attendant is responsible for performing oversight of day to day facility and operational tasks at the Rockville Skate Park. They will ensure that all policies are followed by guests and that all safety measures are being implemented. Applicant must be willing to work outdoors and have availability to work evenings and weekends. First Aid/CPR/AED certification is required. General knowledge of skateboarding, BMX, scooter and/or inline skating is preferred, but not required. The job is ideal for someone who is dependable, people-oriented, adaptable/flexible, and can work independently.

Position responsibilities include but are not limited to: ensuring customer safety, facility cleanliness and maintenance, effective operations of the Skate Park complex inclusive of timely opening and closing according to prescribed schedules, delivering a high level of customer service, set-up and break-down for scheduled events and classes, adherence of risk management procedures and policies, enforcement of park rules and regulations, administering first aid when necessary, completion of daily log sheets and incident reports as needed and reporting any unsafe conditions. Skate Park Facility Attendants are also responsible for obtaining and filing signed participant waivers from park users, lending and disinfecting safety equipment for park users and other duties as assigned by the supervisor or their designee.

Shifts: Varies; Monday-Sunday. Position is part-time, with hours varying by the season.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
Possess excellent communication skills, reliable attendance, First Aid/CPR/AED certification and ability to carry up to 50 pounds equipment. In the absence of their supervisor, the Skate Park Facility Attendant is expected to demonstrate the ability to exercise independent judgment. References required.

EXPERIENCE:
Experience working with large groups and 1 year of experience as a facility staff member or manager is preferred.

EDUCATION:
High school diploma or above and at least 18 years of age.


As a condition of employment, all new hires, including part-time, temporary and seasonal employees, reporting to the worksite, as well as working remotely, are required to have received at least the first dose of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine or the single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine prior to their start date. New hires will be required to receive any additional doses (including the booster shot) of the COVID-19 vaccine in a manner and schedule consistent with the current CDC guidelines. Weekly COVID-19 testing will be required until fully vaccinated.
New hires, except individuals who have worked for the City any time after October 8, 2021, may submit a request for a religious or medical accommodation (exemption). All requests will be reviewed and evaluated on a case-by-case basis. New hires will be required to submit weekly COVID-19 test results if they are approved for a medical or religious accommodation (exemption).
