Site Safety Coordinator (Lumberton) Job at Idaho Forest Group/Mississippi

Idaho Forest Group/Mississippi Lumberton, MS 39455

Idaho Forest Group is seeking a Site Safety Coordinator to become the site expert on all safety policies and procedures.

POSITION EXPECTATIONS:

  • Conduct Safety Orientation and issue out PPE to onboarding personnel
  • Become IFG’s site expert on policy and procedures
  • Ensure the safety of personnel onsite
  • Train and Coach personnel on IFG’s Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), Hot Work, writing of SOP’s, and other safety related policies and programs
  • Collect, review, and update Hot Work Permit Boards
  • Conduct Site Audits to ensure compliance with IFG policies and procedures
  • Conduct and collect samples to comply with DEQ requirements
  • Conduct and gather information during investigations related to personal injury, and property damage incidents

EDUCATION & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years safety experience highly preferred
  • Safety Awareness: knowledge, experience, and commitment
  • Effective Written and Communication Skills
  • Safety Leadership and Mindset
  • Hazard Identification Skills
  • Background and/or knowledge of OSHA preferred but not required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Move safely, quickly, and perform duties with repetitious movement. Sit and/or stand for shift, reach with hands and arms, stoop, squat, twist, push and pull, maintain balance, bend at the waist, kneel, walk varying distances, and climb stairs. Must be able to tolerate all weather elements, loud conditions, vibrations, and airborne particles (sawdust).

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

As a condition of employment, Idaho Forest Group requires employees to complete a variety of pre-employment screening processes which may include, but are not limited to criminal background check, drug and substance test, reference check, prior work verification, driving history (MVR), education verification, aptitude/skills testing, and credit checks. The depth of screening will vary based on the position.
