Devens, MA – Corrugated Packaging Division - Shipping Clerk

Opportunity Summary: As a shipping clerk you will be responsible for organizing and managing the day to day logistical activities for a busy overnight shipping shift. Your role is also responsible for ensuring personnel operate efficiently and safely, maximizing loads to ensure on-time delivery of customer products and high customer satisfaction. Experienced clerks earn $23.39 an hour after training. Excellent Benefits available immediately upon hire. We have a opening on days and nights. Night shift has a .50 an hour shift differential. You must be able to drive a forklift.

How you will impact WestRock:

· Coordinate daily dispatch for each 12 hour shift

· Identify opportunities to maximize manufactured square footage (MSF) per trailer to increase utilization of assets and increase cost savings

· Coordinate shipments, order fulfillment, expired inventory, and customer owned inventory

· Work collaboratively with Production to assess, manage, and prioritize customer requests to ensure load planning accuracy, mitigate delays, and enable high customer satisfaction

· Ensure Shipping team safely operate material handling equipment (e.g. forklift) and properly adhere to all safety regulations and procedures

· Partner with 3rd Party Logistics Companies to coordinate dock times for customer receipt of inventory

What you need to succeed:

· Experience operating Fork Trucks

· 3 years of experience in Shipping and Receiving in a high volume shipping office

· Great written and verbal communication skills with ability to adjust communication style and interact across all levels of the organization

·· Strong decision-making skills with the ability to adapt and quickly respond to unforeseen changes in the production environment

· Well organized with great time management skills to manage the execution of multiple priorities
