Job description
Assumes responsibility of the facility under the delegated authority of the Director.
Monitor resident services
Provides crisis counseling, as needed
Maintains all documentation and written reports as required by DHS, NYSDSS, and the assessment shelter
Overall supervision, administration, operation, setting and maintaining a caring environment conducive to personal growth.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assumes responsibility of facility or administrative functions under the delegated authority of the Director, for all shelter operations and administrative duties on assigned shift.
Supervises activities and staff on assigned shifts. Monitors resident services.
Coordinate all fire safety and emergency planning requirements on the assigned shift. Provides crisis counseling as needed.
Maintain all documentation and written reports per requirements of Shelter Director and Unit Director.
Effect on End Results:
1. Provides management oversight in the absence of Shelter Director
2. Facilitates intake and incident reports
3. Assist with securing areas during high volume intake
4. Provides extra managerial assistance during a nighttime shift to assist with bed count.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Public Administration or a related field
2. Two years of supervisory experience dealing with the homeless population, housing programs, employment training programs, substance abuse counseling, or residential program serving an impoverished population.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
4. Bilingual a Plus (Spanish/English)
