Service Technician

Precision Samplers, Inc., a bulk material mechanical sampling system manufacturer located in Charleston, WV requires a service technician to oversee the installation, startup, and operation of new mechanical sampling systems. Depending upon the scope of the project, the technician’s responsibilities can range from “hands on” to “managing a construction crew”. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of an AS Technical Degree in a mechanical or electrical field of study. In lieu of a technical degree, Precision Samplers would consider applicable experience. The position requires knowledge of steel erection, welding procedures, electrical circuitry, PLC control operations, and civil installations. The position can require minimal domestic overnight stays. The candidate will be subject to background checks and drug screenings by both Precision Samplers, Inc., and our customer’s contractual requirements. A valid driver’s license is required, as well as, the ability to qualify for a US Passport and Homeland Security TWIC card. Any additional certifications such as electricians license, hydraulic training, CDL, etc. is a plus. Experience with any of the following is a plus:

· Electrical:

o Understanding simple electrical circuits.

o Reading electrical schematics

o Setting up instrumentation

o Understanding the application of PLC controls. Position does not require the candidate to write ladder logic.

o Rigid conduit bending and pulling of wires

o Installation of electric motors, disconnects, switch gear, and transformers

· Mechanical:

o Assembly and installation of mechanical components such as shaft couplings, bearings, and pulleys

o Basic hydraulic understanding including relief valves, actuators, and pumps.

o Understanding of material handling equipment

· Construction:

o Mild and stainless steel welding skills including mig and stick

o Erection of small structural / metal buildings

o Understanding of crane rigging and hand signals

o Concrete footings and forms

o Concrete finishing

o Basic carpentry

o Equipment Operation including the operation of small construction equipment such as mini excavators, skid steer, and manlifts

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $11.90 - $29.08 per hour
