Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Analysis and Test Manager 2 to join its team of diverse professionals in support of the Command and Launch Design Integration team on the Sentinel (GBSD) program. This leadership role is located in Roy, Utah. Learn more about the Sentinel (GBSD) program here. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.

What you will get to do:

The Analysis and Test Manager 2 will report to the Command and Launch Segment Design Integration Lead. Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and direct a team of Structural Analysts and Test Engineers responsible for developing and managing functional, performance, design, compliance, and verification/validation requirements for Weapon System infrastructure in a Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environment
  • Provide people leadership for a diverse team of Analysts and Engineers, to include performance management, career development, staffing, and merit planning
  • Manage cost and schedule performance for Analysis and Test control accounts as a Control Account Manager (CAM), adhering to Earned Value Management principles and processes.
  • Manage engineering tools and applications for structural and other analytical models and develop the necessary engineering support team to sustain and evolve capabilities
  • Establish the processes that govern modeling, simulation, analysis, and test development and sustainment and participate in the enforcement of processes using modern model-based methods and practices in support of a full digital engineering transformation
  • Provide technical review authority, process audit and process enforcement across all program activities to ensure technical artifact integrity
  • Support planning, budgeting staff forecasting for contract direct and indirect budgets supporting process development.
  • The qualified candidate will be leading a team of engineers to create and present Analysis and Test products at the appropriate level of maturation for any given milestone and demonstrating team readiness in relation to achieving the milestone entrance and exit criteria. The candidate will be identifying required contractual deliverables and non-contractual documentation and driving corresponding updates to closure. They will be coordinating and collaborating with diverse engineering design teams to assist in managing the technical baseline as well as subcontractor engineering teams to help facilitate the integration of their products with the larger GBSD program engineering products.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Structural, Aerospace, Electrical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 6 years combined engineering and/or technical Program Management experience.
  • At least 1 year experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule
  • Current DoD Secret Clearance adjudicated within the past 5 years
  • Ability to obtain DoD Top Secret Clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) access

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience supporting Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) programs or projects
  • Experience with the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and associated reporting processes
  • Excellent at written and oral communications
  • Strong ability to establish, develop, and maintain interpersonal relationships
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering briefings to senior leadership
  • Must be able to work independently, function in a dynamic environment, and be flexible to changing direction
  • Must have experience in planning, organizing, staffing, reporting, identifying / managing risk, and supporting multiple program phases
  • A current DoD Top Secret clearance with capability for SAP access
  • Excellent technical writing skills, and team building skills
  • Experience with structural analysis toolsets (e.g. Abaqus, WinGS)
  • Subcontractor technical oversight experience, specific experience managing Engineering, Building, and Construction Firms
  • Experience with military system and subsystem testing and qualification programs
  • Experience with building codes and specs, especially military construction

Salary Range: $116,200 USD - $174,400 USD


Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
