Essential Functions:
  • Create on-going and timely content for Sales Engineers and Management
  • Develop training content and facilitate a training plan which consists of training sessions (instructor-led, live online, and e-learning) for new and existing sales engineers
  • Partner with recruiting, human resources, technical product trainers, and sales management to coordinate and organize of on-boarding logistics such as booking training rooms, and ensuring all necessary tools and equipment are ready for each class
  • Conduct commercial training of sales processes and overall sales etiquette
  • Conduct ongoing skills and competency testing of trainees to ensure the requires competency level has been reached
  • Teach selling and other soft skills that compliment technical product training
  • Track results of training assessments and take appropriate measures to address deficiencies
  • Update training courses based on the latest Cognex product offerings
  • Use gamification and other creative methods to keep training sessions engaging
  • Infuse the Cognex Culture of Work Hard, Play Hard, Move Fast into training offering

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills including verbal, presentation/demonstration and written
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills to be able to schedule multiple course offerings to multiple roles within the sales organization
  • The ideal candidate would have experience teaching and facilitating selling skills, soft skills as well as have some experience within technical sales environment
  • Must be able to facilitate a high energy training session and keep all training offerings engaging. Ability to turn presentations into an interactive learning event
  • Expertise in Windows® Operating System is a plus
  • Domestic travel range for local candidate estimated at 20%
Minimum education and work experience required:
  • Bachelors degree or relevant work experience such as sales experience is a plus and preferred
  • 5-7 years minimum Training and facilitation experience, preferable in a sales environment
  • Experience and exposure in industrial automation technologies (Robots, Machine Vision, PLCs, HMI) is a plus but not required
  • High-tech or manufacturing company experience preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience with e-learning tools preferred
  • Experience and mastery of MS Office tools including Word/Excel/PowerPoint
