Engineering USA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in Turbomachinery to join our growing team! The position is within an established team of consultants, engineers and programmers who work collaboratively to create Industry 4.0 Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Digitalization solutions for our customers in the Aerospace & Defense, Marine, Machinery & Equipment, Automotive & Transportation, and Energy industries. The ideal Senior Mechanical Engineer provides strong technical and process leadership. Rudimentary technical knowledge of software programs, SPLM tools plus an object-oriented approach for engineering problems and applications are also required.

This position is hybrid position, required 3+ days onsite at our Windsor Locks, CT office.

Role and responsibilities

  • Participate in both engineering services and automation projects with emphasis on engineering content and technical leadership. Promote customer satisfaction and on-time/budget delivery.
  • Provide reviews and approvals of engineering work to ensure quality.
  • Provide project management of engineering jobs as needed.
  • Provide engineering knowledge to staff members experiencing challenges.
  • Provide experience, guidance and mentoring to staff members.
  • Communicate with clients at various levels to manage expectations and ensure satisfaction.
  • Strengthen client relationships through quality work and frequent interaction.
  • Be actively involved with Sales in the pursuit of opportunities. Provide technical support and participation in the quoting process.
  • Provide for consistency and excellence in engineering practice through verbal and written standards and guidelines. Participate in the creation, review, and approval of policies and procedures influencing the technical staff.
  • Design and implement programs for the dissemination of engineering knowledge and competency throughout the technical staff.
  • Creates business and technical plans to support DAA and customer goals whenever there is an engineering component involved.
  • Work with the users of the solution to develop requirements.
  • Contribute to the architecture of the solution.
  • Be responsible for timely deliverables.
  • Document the design and testing of the solution.
  • Support user acceptance testing

Qualifications:

  • Mechanical Engineering Services knowledge in Turbomachinery, including:
    • Mechanical Design
    • Structural Analysis
    • Heat Transfer
    • Fluid Dynamics
    • Optimization
  • Programming and Software
    • NX, SolidWorks, etc.
    • FEA (ANSYS, NASTRAN, etc.)
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Strong Time Management Skills
  • BS or higher in Computer Science, Math or Mechanical Engineering with relevant programming experience

Experience

  • 15+ years' experience in an engineering or design environment with Turbomachinery.
  • Experience writing functional specifications, requirements, and design documents.
  • Experience conceptualizing, designing, implementing, and testing small to medium engineering software applications in a team environment.
