Material Handler III - Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for moving product within the warehouse by means of motorized equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, reach lifts etc.
  • Responsible to stock incoming items, to replenish flow racks, and pick orders with use of RF equipment
  • Create cartons and labels prior to shipping
  • Ability to break down incoming products per packing list
  • Maintain productivity minimum standard
  • Adhere to all safety rules, policies and procedures
  • Work overtime as required
  • Load and/or unload trucks.
  • Put away incoming freight.
  • Replenish orders as necessary to support operation.
  • Supply cardboard boxes and bags for departments.
  • Perform necessary housekeeping duties to maintain clean work environment.
  • Maintain safe actions on and off the equipment in compliance with all safety rules/regulations required by Emerson, federal, state and local provisions.
  • Meet department quality, attendance and productivity requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications, Education, Skills and/or Experience

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Requires prior forklift certification with 6 months previous warehouse experience
  • Previous shipping/material handling experience
  • Previous RF equipment to move product
  • Ability to operate forklift in a safe manner
  • Follow written and/or oral instructions in English
  • Able to lift parts weighing in excess of 50 pounds (assistance when needed) and to work in bending, squatting and standing positions (includes working off ladders) for long periods of time
  • Must be able to work quickly meeting productivity and quality standards
  • Promote an environment where individual contribution (s) toward quality and cost improvements are maximized
  • Pass forklift certifications and requirements to operate forklifts
  • Ability to work overtime when necessary
