The Senior Manager, Cash Collections for Leica Biosystems is responsible for cash collection in the US & Canada markets whilst driving associate engagement, delivering best-in-class aged debt levels, and ensuring a fantastic customer experience whilst maintaining a focus on driving continual process improvement and shaping the strategic direction of the collections team.

This position is part of the Finance department located in Deer Park, Illinois and will be hybrid. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives.

You will be a part of the Finance team and report to the Finance Director- Selling Unit Americas responsible for utilizing business and reporting systems to identify customer payment trends and potential bad debt and identifies the root cause of payment issues and takes appropriate action to turn receivables into cash. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to the cash collection team responsible for the US and Canada.

  • Responsible for cash collection and DSOs in line with agreed targets and setting robust cash collection targets for each associate.

  • Work cross functionally with sales, commercial operations, and customer service to identify, shape and implement effective collection strategies that optimize cash receipts and minimize bad debt risk.

  • Ensure bad debt provision and write-offs minimized through targeted collection techniques.

  • Demonstrate appropriate key controls are in place for internal/external audit.

  • Drive engagement within the collections team to ensure that external customers and associates receive an excellent level of service when engaging with the collections team.

  • Responsible for the provision of Trade Debtor KPI data and analysis as required.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field.

  • 5 + years of relevant experience in credit/collection management.

  • Strong knowledge ASP Credit Management tools or similar.

  • Proven leadership capabilities.

  • Previous experience in strategic team development.

  • Ability to interface with complex organizations in a related field.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • MBA or other relevant degree/certification or member of a relevant professional body.

  • Previous experience in managing multiple projects and deadlines.
