We're looking for:

The Senior IT Support Specialist will assist the Information Technology teams across Bunkhouse properties and businesses to satisfy all technology equipment and conductivity requests in a timely manner. This position is responsible for providing guests and users with a high degree of satisfaction, technical expertise and timeliness of problem resolution. Strong customer centric service and effective communication skills are required along with a thorough understanding of desktop software and architecture, mobile devices audio visual equipment and a solid understanding of networking.

The Senior IT Support Specialist has excellent communication skills, the ability to resolve conflict, and a thorough understanding of Bunkhouse policies. The Sr Support Specialist must develop and maintain the company’s culture, values and reputation in the public eye and with all staff, guests, vendors and partners.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Great Interpersonal communication abilities
  • Excellent numeric, literacy and keyboard skills. Fluency in Office 365 and Microsoft Office
  • End User Desktop Support
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies, TCP/IP and network troubleshooting
  • Experience with Oracle Opera PMS, Oracle Micros Simphony, F&B POS and other hotel systems
  • Deep knowledge of network, infrastructure and telecommunications
  • A+ and Network+ certification preferred
  • Basic cabling and rack maintenance preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years Hotel and Food & Beverage experience.
  • Outstanding communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Computer proficient.
  • Sound decision making; the calm in the storm.

Job Requirements:

  • Coordinates with MSP for onsite support and administration of:
  • Completes on-site work and support for IT infrastructure between MSP and associated IT vendor(s):
  • Performs on-site computer, printer, network and communications equipment support and maintenance
  • Manages servers and networking equipment in MDF and IDFs
  • Requires strong TCP/IP skills and provisioning of VLANs
  • Schedules and performs regular data and systems back-up
  • Secures physical access to computer rooms and other relevant areas in accordance with company policies
  • Ensures security of data, network access and backup systems
  • Attends meetings as coordinated by General Manager and Standard VP of IT
  • Identifies needs for major repair, and or investment and makes recommendations to GM
  • Assists GM with annual budget guidelines and controlling costs while maintaining a secure and resilient IT environment
  • Assists with creation / changes to interface from POS to financials/inventory/Payroll and Accounting departments
  • Works with hotel operations and vendor(s) to manage changes property IT systems prior to implementation
  • Ensures documentation, manuals and procedures are created and updated
  • Contributes to the cost-effective operation of the company by administering to IT functions within budgetary guidelines
  • Participates in projects and business process reviews where required
  • Embraces changes in your function as dictated by the industry, company and property
  • Anticipates and undertakes any reasonable tasks and secondary duties required before anyone asks
  • Helps to cover IT emergency support outside normal business hours
  • Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, training material, memos and verbal instruction
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety in the work area
  • Maintain an increased awareness of safety issues throughout the property

Based upon fluctuating demands of the operation and to exceed customer expectations, it may be necessary to perform a multitude of different functions not specifically related to this position. This person may be expected to perform other tasks and duties as needed or as directed. Furthermore, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and revision.

Working Conditions/Environment:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, typical of a hotel/restaurant/office setting
  • The person in this position may have to lift/carry up to fifty (50) pounds on a daily basis; anything over fifty (50) pounds is considered a minimum two (2) person lift
  • The person having this position may have to remain stationary for one (1) hour, move about/traverse property spaces, push, kneel, bend, balance, squat, reach and stretch for up to eight (8) hours per day
