Salary: $141,022 - $184,516

Major Duties

The Enterprise IT Architect is a senior IT specialist supporting the CJIS Division mission by:

  • Setting overall direction, guidance, and definition of IT architecture to effectively support the CJIS business strategy by leading people, teams, and projects.
  • Providing expert input in the planning, development and delivery of CJIS Division IT enterprise architecture solutions and services that integrate with FBI enterprise IT strategies.
  • Analyzing IT architecture challenges that transcend organizational boundaries and review data to formulate recommendations.
  • Providing technical guidance to senior FBI executives and other federal agencies regarding IT enterprise architecture critical issues.
  • Exercising an in-depth understanding of new IT architecture trends and promote CJIS Division and FBI enterprise awareness regarding new policies, procedures, and state-of-the-art technologies and solutions.
  • Performing high-level analysis on highly complex issues within the enterprise architecture framework to develop unique and original solutions and advise FBI management on critical developmental issues, ensuring that all reasonable solutions are pursued.
  • Preparing and presenting highly technical briefings to executive management on complex and/or controversial IT-related topics.
  • Serving as a CJIS Division technical consultant to FBI enterprise IT partners, as well as partners in law enforcement and industry that deliver technology solutions used by the CJIS Division and its customers.

Qualifications & Evaluations

  • Education requirement
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited college or university
  • Work experience
    • Minimum 10 years related IT experience of which 2 years must be in the cloud environment.
    • Minimum 4 years experience leading teams of IT architects or large systems integration activities with multiple architectural disciplines.
  • Knowledge requirements
    • Expert-level knowledge of current IT policies and legal precedents as it relates to the FBI's mission.
    • Expert-level oral and written communication skills to prepare and present briefings to executives, make presentations, and represent the CJIS Division at the highest levels of inter-governmental conferences and meetings.
    • High-level knowledge of native cloud strategy and architecture, including AWS, Azure, and multicloud environments, multi-functional enterprise infrastructure platforms, cybersecurity strategies and operation; and enterprise SaaS implementations.
    • High-level knowledge of Agile/Lean Frameworks and methodologies to create technology roadmaps, assessments, and recommendations.

Candidates should possess strong leadership, collaboration, organizing and planning, and problem solving skills as well as exemplary interpersonal ability.
