Job Overview
: The Senior IT Manager is familiar and comfortable with systems integration, content management systems (CMS), databases, learning management systems (LMS), the Google suite of products, as well as operations and integration of core IT equipment.

In addition to technical skills, this role will co-develop school-wide IT policies, procedures and training materials for a variety of platforms across multiple departments: academics, operations, data, and leadership. The Senior IT Manager will ensure that policies and procedures are published accurately while also implementing new pages so that content is relevant, informative, appealing and fresh. It is equally important that demonstrates a commitment to collegiality and collaboration, especially when there is a gap in digital literacy among colleagues.

Other duties will include working with IT consultants to troubleshoot technical issues from staff and also manage tech inventory and maintenance across the campuses and network. The Senior IT Manager will think about how to minimize waste and seek creative solutions to recycle unused or broken devices.


Reports To:
The IT manager will report directly to the Chief of Operations and Sustainability Officer and be a member of the network operations team.


Responsibilities and Duties


Information Systems Management (40%)

  • Administer Google G Suite, Unily (intranet), and serve as primary point of contact for troubleshooting issues related to Lattice (HR management platform).
  • Provide support as needed to instructional learning management and student informational systems.
  • Coordinate and work with IT vendors as needed to troubleshoot or develop content on Google, Unily, and Lattice.
  • Work with COSO and departmental leaders to create policies and procedures so that all staff understand how to use informational systems with fidelity and responsibility.
  • Support any training so that staff understand how to use informational systems with fidelity and responsibility.
  • Work with COSO and departmental leaders with planning, design, and installation of future network expansions as growth demands


Help Desk and Tech Support (30%)

  • Manages IT vendor-supplied helpdesk ticketing system and oversees technical support and troubleshooting for user hardware and software, network equipment, and printers/copiers.
  • Manages user account administration, using/updating joint online IT documentation system with support vendor, change requests, and maintenance.
  • Serves as primary point of contact for all tech-related issues and can triage to connect with IT providers to problem solve and resolve tech issues.
  • Support the onboarding process for new staff by ensuring tech set up for classroom devices. Responsible for all onboarding and offboarding of staff related to IT access.


Tech Inventory (20%)

  • Oversee the inventory of hardware - key fobs, projectors, laptops, chromebooks, etc.
  • Coordinate and manage the distribution of technology to all staff, and also the collection of technology when staff offboard.
  • Coordinate with COSO to place tech orders and enter inventory when new tech arrives.


Other (10%)

  • Support school events or professional development, especially when tech set up is required.
  • Attend and participate in Operations team meetings.
  • Meet weekly with supervisor to evaluate progress, growth and performance
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications, Skills and Values

Qualifications

  • Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Must have at least 2 years experience with IT management
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with the public
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member
  • Ability to self-direct and prioritize among competing goals, exhibit flexibility, and drive results
  • Adept at thinking strategically, translating plans into action, and exhibiting excellent judgment
  • Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50lbs
  • Preference will be given to candidates who are bilingual in Spanish and English
  • At least 2 years experience with G Suite for Education, including experience as a Super User
  • Experience with desktop support and working with IT vendors
  • Knowledge and experience of MAC support and MAC and Windows product support and Chromebook Management and support
  • Knowledge and experience with system and software application
  • Knowledge of instructional technology requirements and experience with computer technology and its applications in an elementary education setting is preferred.
  • Experience providing support and administration over Google Meet/Zoom

Other Job Details

  • Schedule: 8 hour day plus 30 minutes for lunch, starting time assigned as needed (may be required to attend meetings after student dismissal)
  • Location: Network
  • Position Type: This is a 12-month salaried position which is exempt and therefore not eligible for overtime pay under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act
  • Employment subject to TB test, fingerprinting and background check
  • Full vaccination against COVID-19 required
