Job Title: Senior Director of Racquet Sports - FT
Branch: Upper Main Line YMCA
Location: Berwyn, PA
Shift: FT Exempt
Salary range: $60,000-$80,000

Position:
Manages the development, and evaluation of various tennis and pickleball program areas. Recruits, trains and supports assigned staff and volunteers. Additional responsibilities include hiring, payroll functionality, and training of staff and volunteers, curriculum development and evaluation, budget management, and adhering to all regulatory and Association standards. Provides liaison to committee(s) and advisory board(s) and takes a leadership role in mission advancement activities. Responsible for oversight of the Tennis and Pickleball departments and associated team members and professionals. The facility includes sixteen outdoor tennis courts (two courts under lights), twelve outdoor pickleball courts (six courts under lights), four indoor tennis courts, and three indoor pickleball courts.

Responsibilities:
  • Develops, implements, manages, and uses data to evaluate operating plans to promote program growth for the YMCA.
  • Develops and supports strategies to ensure that tennis and pickleball program participants connect with one another and connect with the YMCA.
  • Develops and controls department budgets related to the position.
  • Hires, trains, and supervises assigned staff along with volunteers in assigned areas.
  • Facilitates communication and provides leadership.
  • Ensures accurate completion of all payroll functionality for assigned staff including but not limited to: timecard approvals, changes and scheduling of assigned staff.
  • Takes leadership role for branch mission advancement and/or volunteer activities.
  • Assures compliance with state and local regulations.
  • Ensures that program and Association standards and policies are met and safety procedures are followed.
  • Ensures high quality programs through innovative program development, data-driven evaluations and ongoing training of staff and volunteers.
  • Coordinates special events and activities.
  • Provides data, rosters, schedules, and reports as required for assigned programs.
  • Lead program with enthusiasm and positive motivation.
  • Work with leadership to advance the specialty tennis and pickleball programs.
  • Promote and exhibit a healthy attitude, lifestyle, and appearance.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge and ability to demonstrate skills necessary for specialty field.
  • Organize and maintain program records (i.e., attendance records, rosters, etc.)
  • Manage all equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and risk-free environment.
  • Communicate effectively and timely with program participants and parents.
  • Ensure all children are picked up by parent.
  • Promote other YMCA programs by handing out brochures, answering questions, or referring inquiries to appropriate person.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
  • Four-year college degree in related field or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of three years of YMCA experience or related experience within another organization required.
  • Tennis and pickleball experience required.
  • Three years of supervisory experience required.
  • Ability to direct programs through supervision of volunteers and staff required.
  • Preferred knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations required.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
  • YMCA Team Leader certification required.
  • Must be fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Obtain and maintain all new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire.
