The Sr. Director of the Daikin Learning is an influential leader who will shape Daikin's workforce and market perception through the professional development and continuous learning of independent sales representatives, customers and employees. Our goal is to be the leading HVAC educator in the Americas.

This leader will establish an effective integrated learning strategy that aligns with company strategy and our philosophy of people centered management. Specifically, this individual will lead the design, development, execution and measurement of our Sales and Service learning initiatives.

Success in this role will require demonstrated partnership with several internal and external organizations: Sales Representative organizations, Product & Applied Engineers, Corporate Learning, Technical Response Center, Service organization and Marketing.

A Day in the Life:

Leadership:

  • This role leads three teams in the strategy, design, development and deployment of learning for Sales and Service organizations: Learning Design & Development, Sales Deployment, Service Deployment
  • 18 employees; 3 direct reports; 15 indirect and 4-6 independent consultants or organizations
  • Guides the learning organization to operational excellence through the adoption of the business planning process and learning process optimization. Establishes aligned goals for the Daikin Learning team that deliver upon key business goals
  • Establishes learning organization business measures and holds the team accountable for delivering upon these measures (Scorecard)
  • Establishes a pricing strategy that aligns with the business goals. Partners with Finance to implement the pricing strategy.
  • Key Contributor to the People Experience Leadership team

Strategic Learning:

  • Creates the strategic vision for Sales and Service training in the Daikin Applied organization and executes upon that vision
  • Uses performance-outcome based strategies to consult with leaders and experts in the organization
  • Leads the effort to incorporate a variety of learning modality technologies into the organization, including Pathway, Virtual Reality, Micro-learning, and Instructor Led
  • Partners with Sales and Service organizations to deliver on key strategies
  • Builds connections with other Daikin entities to deliver learning solutions
  • Identify opportunities to collaborate with sister companies to strengthen “One Daikin” presence and market perception

Design & Development:

  • Provides leadership guidance and support to the Design & Development team to ensure they can deliver on critical business initiatives
  • Supports the design team partnership with leaders from Engineering, Manufacturing and Sales
  • Guides the prioritization of design initiatives roadmap
  • Creates and presents business cases to executive leadership for future learning opportunities

Deployment:

  • Provides guidance and support to the Sales Deployment and Service Deployment learning teams
  • Ensures that we continue to expand our deployment options by increasing the frequency of offerings and the number of offerings
  • Govern the marketing and communications for Daikin Learning

What you will Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 15 years' experience in learning and development
  • 5 years' experience leading Learning & Development organizations
  • Experience intechnical and/or commercial learning (trade based, manufacturing, sales, service)

Preferred

  • Master's degree
  • Experience in HVAC education
  • Experience managing outsource partners & consultants
