Position Summary:

The Senior Consumer Loan Servicing Processor is responsible for the quality assurance of all consumer loans (vehicles, lines of credit, personal, credit cards and solar) and processing of subordination requests for solar loans. The incumbent provides assistance and support for other consumer loan servicing duties such as solar UCC filings and DMV processing. The incumbent works directly with the AVP, Consumer Lending Servicing to ensure adherence to Technology Credit Union’s (Tech CU’s) lending guidelines and standards.

Responsibilities:

Essential Duties

  • Manages and performs timely quality assurance of consumer loans such as auto (direct/indirect), personal lines of credit, credit cards, solar and/or other types of loans as assigned.
  • Maintains and manages the tracking system for loan audits to ensure that all audit findings and resolutions are tracked, trended and addressed.
  • Runs the consumer loan funded reports and acts as a backup for management in selecting loan samples for audits.
  • Prepares monthly audit write-up that includes findings and trends.
  • Manages and completes internal service requests received within specified service level agreements.
  • Manages the department’s email inboxes; interprets emails based on needs and assigns to appropriate parties.
  • Handles communication with members/outside parties to properly and effectively resolve complaints/escalations.
  • Provides support with subordination requests processing for solar loans, including reviewing the property title report, UCC record and loan record.
  • Acts as primary back-up for consumer loan servicing duties such as, but not limited to: vehicle title releases; UCC filings and terminations; DMV inquiries; solar and other consumer loan account maintenance; consumer loan payoffs; solar loan payoff demands; and, loan research.
  • Keeps up-to-date on changes to department processes and/or procedures.
  • Creates and/or updates department procedures specific to main job function.
  • Develops a solid understanding of Tech CU’s consumer loan policies and procedures.
  • Maintains effective communication with the consumer loan originations team and front-line staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule

  • Full-time; typically 40 hours/week
  • 8:30 am-5:30 pm, M-F (or as directed by management)
  • Occasional overtime
  • Flexibility to occasionally work early or late hours, and periodic weekend hours, typically with advance notice

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.

Experience: 3+ years’ experience in related disciplines, including exposure to consumer lending policies and procedures in a financial institution. Previous QC/audit experience preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of current state and federal laws (Regulation Z, Regulation B, Military Lending Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
  • Awareness of collateralized lending processing applications, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Solid understanding of both consumer loan origination and servicing processes, including loan documentation and system operational needs.
  • Proficient in PC applications including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external business partners.
  • Strong written communication and analytical skills.
  • Excellent ability to complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent problem solving, prioritization and planning skills.
  • Basic presentation and training skills.
  • Ability to participate, sustain performance and thrive on a high-energy team.

Licensing: Notary Public license preferred.

Travel: May be required to occasionally attend offsite meetings or events, typically with advance notice. Overnight travel unlikely.

Typical Working Conditions: Office environment with member interaction via phone.

Equipment Used: Routinely uses standard office equipment, including computer, phone, copier and other devices.

Physical Requirements: This position requires:

  • Speaking and listening to interact with vendors and members via phone or in person.
  • Sitting for up to 85% of the day.
  • Reading a computer screen and perform keyboarding tasks for up to 80% of the day.

PAY AND BENEFITS

This is a grade 103 position, with a salary range from $57,600 to $80,400 with bonus potential of 7%. The anticipated range for new hires is between the low-end and midpoint of the range, depending on experience. Tech CU is a pay-for performance organization that benchmarks base pay to the 50th percentile of our market and we provide incentive-based compensation aligned with successful accomplishment of individual and corporate goals. The salary mentioned above is based on working in San Jose, CA. Salaries are based on the geographic location in which you live if working remotely.

Additionally, Tech CU provides health care benefits, life and disability insurance, 12 paid holidays and 401k with a company match; along with employee paid voluntary benefits. 5.54 Paid Time Off (PTO) hours accrue per bi-weekly paycheck (18 days per year) and will increase with length of service. Eight hours of Voluntary Time Off (VTO) are granted to full time employees annually to dedicate time to charitable organizations. Leaves of absences are available in adherence with state and federal regulations.
