Responsibilities

  • Develop environmental strategies to ensure compliance with Federal and local legislative requirements
  • Lead in the implementation of environmental policies
  • Develop waste control/prevention programs
  • Report on environmental performance to internal and external clients along with regulatory agencies
  • Identify and reduce project's environmental risks and costs
  • Keep up with best practices and changing legislation concerning environmental issues
  • Direct public relations activities, communications, and education plans involving environmental issues
  • Train employees at all levels on environmental practices and responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Defgree in the area of environmental studies (e.g. Bio, Zoology, Ecology) or equivalent
  • 5+ years of environmental experience/knowledge
  • Heavy Civil background (preferred)
  • Familiarity with DOT construction requirements
  • Experience must demonstrate familiarity with:
    • Provision of Construction General Permit
    • Requirements of Section 404 and permit provisions
    • Minimization construction noise through abatement
    • Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA) compliance
  • Knowledge and experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Mature and effective presenter and communicator, capable of interacting with senior level executives
  • Strong analytic, organizational and interpersonal skills
