Abilities First is seeking a LPN in our school program located in Poughkeepsie, NY. This position will provide nursing support to the school program, monitoring the on-going health care of a students, administering medications, providing emergency care, and supervising infection control.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 1st shift; 48 weeks per year. Follows the school calendar (September – June), with a 6-week summer program.
Responsibilities include:
- Provides first-aid treatment as necessary, decides on appropriate emergency care when indicated.
- Assists in monitoring health policies and procedures on medication, emergency treatment and signs of illness which indicate that children should not attend program.
- Updates and records pertinent medical information in student's files; informs staff and parents/caregivers as necessary.
